Everywhere I look right now it's some influencer hopping in an ice barrel looking like they're having a religious experience. Half of gym Twitter swears by it for recovery, other half says it's just a cold placebo flex for the gram. Anyone actually run it consistently long enough to notice a real difference or is this just 2026's version of the ice bath fad that's gonna die out in 6 months like everything else.
Sleep better after, that's enough for me tbh
Studies are mixed on this ngl, might actually blunt gains if you do it right after lifting. only do it on rest days now myself
My fridge broke so i just use a trash can with ice and hose water lol works the same as the $6k barrel
Mental toughness part is real even if the recovery science isn't
Did it 2 weeks, hated it, quit. just cold and miserable, never felt "recovered"
Appreciate the input y'all, sounds like it's more discipline tool than magic recovery hack. gonna try rest-day-only like a few of you said and actually track it for 6 weeks instead of just vibing
