Anyone Else Started Taking Blood Work More Seriously?
I've noticed more people in the gym talking about getting regular blood work when using performance enhancing drugs. I think that's a positive change because people are finally paying attention to what's happening internally not just what they see in the mirror.
Things like blood pressure, cholesterol, liver markers, kidney function, blood counts.and hormone levels can tell a very different story from how someone feels day to day. Some side effects can also be subtle for a long time.
For anyone who has gone down that route what made you start taking health monitoring more seriously?
Re: Anyone Else Started Taking Blood Work More Seriously?
Man honestly speaking feeling fine isn't the same as everything being fine as regular checkups gave me a much better picture of my overall health.
Re: Anyone Else Started Taking Blood Work More Seriously?
Blood pressure was the one I started paying attention to most. It's such an easy thing to overlook when you're focused entirely on strength and physique.

I think the biggest improvement is simply being more aware & knowing your nombers makes it easier to have an informed conversation with a doctor instead of guessing.

Nutrition matters here too i started paying more attention to overall diet quality hydration sleep and cardiovascular fitness instead of thinking lifting alone covered everything.

One thing I've learned is not to look at a single result in isolation. Trends over time are much more useful an d a doctor can help interpret what actually needs attention.👍

Brother the biggest takeaway for me is that performance shouldn't come at the expense of health. Training is supposed to be something you can keep doing for years not just something that looks good for one season🏋️‍♂️🩺
