Been on a cut for 10 weeks and my strength’s tanking. Still leaner but flat as hell. How do you guys keep some pop while staying in a deficit?
Totally normal, bro. Long cuts beat your performance into the floor. Low carbs + low calories = low power output.
You probably need a refeed or a diet break. A weekend of higher carbs can bring your strength back fast.
Also, 10 weeks is usually when fatigue creeps up hardcore. Your body’s like “hey man, can we not do this anymore?”
Yeah I haven’t taken any refeeds. Just straight deficit the whole time. Probably why I feel cooked.
Yeah that’ll do it. Refeeds aren’t magic, but they help your glycogen refill so you don’t feel like a zombie pulling warm-ups.
Keep protein high, carbs around your workout, fats low. That timing alone helps keep some strength.
And lower your training volume a bit. You can’t train like you’re bulking when you’re eating like a bird.
Makes sense. I’ve been pushing the same volume from before the cut, so maybe I’m doing this to myself.
100%. Cut = intensity high, volume moderate. Not the other way around.
