Ergonomics for the Home Office: Saving Your Back
With so many of us working from home, I'm seeing more issues with back and neck pain. Proper ergonomics can be a game-changer. What are your top tips for setting up a healthy workspace? Let's share some pointers!
Re: Ergonomics for the Home Office: Saving Your Back
The 90-degree rule! Your elbows, hips, and knees should all be at roughly a 90-degree angle. This is a great starting point for chair and desk height. Also, make sure your monitor is at eye level to prevent neck strain.

Don't forget to get up and move! No matter how perfect your setup is, sitting for hours is rough on the body. I use an app that reminds me to stand and stretch every 30 minutes. It makes a huge difference.

Excellent point, WellnessWave. Even a perfect ergonomic setup can't fix a sedentary lifestyle. I also recommend a good lumbar support pillow if your chair doesn't have one built in. It helps maintain the natural curve of the spine.
Re: Ergonomics for the Home Office: Saving Your Back
I've started using an exercise ball as a chair for part of the day. It forces me to engage my core and keeps me from slouching. It's not for everyone, but I think it's helping.
Re: Ergonomics for the Home Office: Saving Your Back
I found that a footrest really improved my posture. It helps me keep my knees at the right height and takes pressure off my lower back. A simple, cheap fix that made a big difference for me.
Re: Ergonomics for the Home Office: Saving Your Back
I'm a big fan of standing desks. Even if you only stand for a portion of the day, it breaks up the monotony and helps with circulation. It's a significant investment, but so worth it for long-term health.
