The mental shift is crucial. You have to change your mindset from "making gains" to "maintaining gains." I focus on a different type of progress, like improving my form, hitting new rep PRs with moderate weight, or just enjoying the workout for what it is. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I think it's also helpful to not constantly weigh yourself or stare in the mirror. You're going to lose some water weight and glycogen, and that's normal. Don't let the scale or the mirror discourage you. Focus on how you feel and your performance in the gym.

A lot of guys get into a slump because they feel less "alpha" or less aggressive. This is a temporary symptom of lower testosterone. I remind myself that it's a biological process and not a personal failing. I focus on other aspects of my life where I can feel in control.

I found it helpful to track my non-lifting progress. How's my sleep? How's my mood? How's my libido? Seeing those things slowly improve is a huge morale boost and a good sign that the PCT is working.
