Napping strategies: yea or nay for athletes?

I'm knackered in the afternoons, especially on heavy training days. Is napping a good idea, or does it mess up your main sleep? If you nap, how long?

20-minute "power nap". No longer. Set an alarm. Any longer and you hit deep sleep (sleep inertia) and wake up feeling like rubbish. 20 mins is perfect for a quick refresh.

What VO2Commander said. Or, a "coffee nap". Chug an espresso, *then* nap for 20 mins. The caffeine kicks in just as your alarm goes off. You wake up feeling amazing. Sounds mad, but it works.

A coffee nap! That's wild. I'll try the 20-min rule first. Cheers.
