🏋️ Chasing a New PR: What’s Your Current Biggest Strength Goal?

Every lifter has that one number they're chasing, whether it's finally hitting a 225-pound bench, pulling 405 on deadlift, squatting heavier with solid form, or getting stronger on their favorite compound lifts. Setting a new personal record (PR) is exciting, but getting there takes consistent training, smart programming, proper recovery, and plenty of patience.
Lately, more gym-goers have been focusing on strength goals while balancing hypertrophy, technique, and overall athletic performance. Some are chasing big numbers on the powerlifting lifts, while others want to break through stubborn plateaus, improve their reps at a certain weight, or build strength without sacrificing form. It's not always about lifting the heaviest weight in the room; sometimes, a clean rep with better control is the biggest win.
What's the biggest PR you're working toward right now? Are you chasing a bigger bench, stronger squat, heavier deadlift, or just trying to beat your previous numbers? Let's hear those strength goals!

225 bench is the mission right now. Been stuck at 205 for weeks, but we're getting there!

I'm chasing a 405 deadlift before the end of the year. My pulls have been moving pretty consistently, but grip strength is becoming the weak link. Added some paused deadlifts and heavier rows to my program, hoping that gets me over the hump.

Honestly, I just want to squat 315 with clean depth. No ego lifting for me.

I'm pushing for a 275 bench. Working on paused reps and cleaner form to get past my plateau.

I'm working toward a 500-pound deadlift, but I'm not rushing it. My current training block focuses on building stronger hamstrings, glutes, and core stability. I've learned that taking a step back, improving technique, and managing fatigue can sometimes move your numbers forward faster than constantly testing your max.

Trying to hit 10 clean pull-ups with added weight. Bodyweight strength deserves some love too!

My goal is a 225-pound overhead press eventually. Shoulder strength has always been a weak point, so I'm putting more work into strict presses, lateral raises, and upper-back stability. It's a slow grind, but watching those working weights climb is honestly one of the best feelings in the gym.

I'm chasing a 315 squat while keeping my mobility and depth consistent. Strong reps over ugly PRs every time.

These goals are awesome! I like seeing everyone chasing different numbers instead of comparing their lifts with someone else's. My biggest takeaway is that consistent progression, solid technique, and proper recovery matter more than rushing a new PR. Keep grinding, everyone. Those plates aren't going to move themselves!
