Side Effects During PCT: How to Manage Them

Let's talk about the less-than-pleasant part of PCT: the side effects. We're talking about mood swings, lethargy, low libido, and sometimes even hot flashes from SERMs. What have you experienced, and what strategies have you used to cope? I think it's important to be realistic about this phase.

The mood swings were the toughest for me. One minute I was fine, the next I was irritable and emotional. I found that mindfulness and meditation helped a lot. It sounds a bit cliché, but it helps you recognize the mood for what it is—a temporary hormonal fluctuation—and not let it control you.

Lethargy is a big one. I had to really push myself to get to the gym. My strategy was to use pre-workout and find a new, exciting playlist. Little things to give you a mental boost. Also, making sure my sleep hygiene was perfect was non-negotiable. Quality sleep is your best friend during this phase.

Libido drop is almost guaranteed for most people. The best advice is to not worry about it. It will come back. It's a temporary phase. Worrying about it only adds more stress, which is counterproductive to recovery. Just focus on your health and trust the process.

For the hot flashes, staying hydrated and dressing in layers helps. But the most effective thing I found was a slight adjustment in my SERM dosage after getting bloodwork back. The key is to be proactive and informed, not reactive and panicked.

A good PCT is also about managing your mental expectations. It's not a smooth ride back to 100%. There will be ups and downs. Acknowledge them, and don't get discouraged. You will get there.

The most important thing is to have a support system. Talk to people in this forum or trusted friends who understand what you're going through. You're not alone in these struggles. Sharing experiences helps normalize the process and makes it much more manageable.
