Physio gave me 'boring' rehab exercises - do they actually work?

Saw a physio for a niggle and got sent away with these tiny, boring band and bodyweight exercises that feel way too easy. Do these actually do anything, or should I be doing more? Tempted to skip them.

Do them. Rehab exercises feel pathetically easy on purpose - they're targeting the specific weak or irritated tissue at a load it can handle, not trying to fatigue you like a workout. Consistency with the boring stuff is exactly what fixes the issue. Skipping them is the number one reason rehab fails.

So the 'too easy' feeling is the point, not a sign I need harder ones?

Precisely. They're dosed for the tissue, not your ego. Do them as prescribed and progress them when the physio says.

I ignored my physio's boring exercises once and the injury dragged on for months. Did them properly the second time and it resolved. Learn from my mistake - the dull little movements work if you actually do them consistently.

Tie them to a daily habit so you don't skip - I do mine with my morning coffee. The hard part isn't the exercises, it's remembering to do them every day. Anchor them to something routine.

Okay, convinced - they're dosed deliberately, consistency is the cure, anchor them to a habit. Doing them properly. Thanks all.
