About to start creatine and getting conflicting advice - load or not, take it at a specific time, and which form? Want to do it right without overcomplicating or overspending.

Monohydrate, 5g daily, skip loading, timing doesn't matter. That's the whole protocol. Loading just saturates you faster (a week vs 3-4 weeks) but isn't necessary and can cause some bloating. Mono is the most studied and the fancy forms never beat it.

So no need for the loading phase or the expensive versions?

Correct. Loading is optional, and HCL/buffered/ester versions cost more for no proven advantage. Save the money, buy plain mono.

Timing genuinely doesn't matter - it works by saturating your muscles over time, not acutely. Take it whenever you'll remember it daily. Consistency is the only 'timing' that counts. I take mine with breakfast so I never forget.

And don't cycle off it - there's no need. It's not a stimulant or a hormone, you just take 5g a day ongoing. Stopping only slowly desaturates you for no benefit. Cheap, safe, effective, daily, forever.

Plain monohydrate, 5g daily, no loading, any time, no cycling. Couldn't be simpler. Thanks all - grabbing a big tub of mono.
