Crossing the finish line is just the beginning of recovery.Immediate post-race recovery:
- Refuel with carbohydrates and protein quickly.
- Rehydrate with water and electrolytes.
- Light active recovery (walk around).
- Elevate legs if possible to aid blood flow.
- Get adequate sleep in the days following.
