Mentally preparing for a big lift or comp is all about setting the right mindset before you even touch the bar. First Visualization is key picture yourself hitting that PR perfectly and get your brain used to the motion before you even step up to the bar. Focus is next block out all the noise, ignore the crowd nd just zero in on the task ahead. Resilience comes into play when things don’t go as planned like missing a lift or having a bad day in the gym don’t let it derail you bounce back and keep pushing. Confidence is the final piece trust the work you’ve put in and know you're ready. Remember **the bar doesn’t care about your feelings it only cares about whether you move it or not** Keep your head in the game stay calm nd execute.

Beyond physical strength, powerlifting is a mental battle.
Developing a strong competition mindset involves:
  • Visualization: Mentally rehearsing successful lifts.
  • Focus: Blocking out distractions, concentrating on the task at hand.
  • Resilience: Bouncing back from missed lifts or setbacks.
  • Confidence: Trusting your training and preparation.
"The bar doesn't care how you feel. It only cares if you move it."
How do you prepare mentally for a big lift or competition?
