End of the day, you won’t be a powerlifter and a runner at peak level together, but you can definitely be strong and not gas out walking upstairs 😅

Yep that’s the sweet spot. You can be strong and still run a decent 5K, just takes smarter programming.

Got it. So basically keep lifting as main focus and use running just to build decent conditioning, not go crazy with it.

Also keep your calories up. If you’re not eating enough, both your lifts and cardio will suffer hard.

I actually improved my conditioning without losing strength by doing 20–25 min steady runs instead of long distance. Way easier to recover from.

It’s all about priorities. If your goal is strength, treat running like support work. Don’t chase PRs in both at once.

Exactly lol. Space it out more. Or do light cardio after upper days instead.

Yeah that might be what I’m doing wrong. I’ve been hitting legs heavy and then trying to run next day… no wonder it feels trash.

Biggest mistake people make is stacking hard leg day and hard run back to back. That’ll kill both your strength and recovery real quick.

I lift heavy 4x a week and run twice. Works fine, just keep runs shorter and don’t go all out every time.
