Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride, magnesium, calcium) are vital for nerve and muscle function, and maintaining fluid balance.
During intense exercise or hot conditions, significant amounts are lost through sweat. Replenishing them prevents dehydration, muscle cramps, and fatigue. While water is essential, for longer or harder sessions, an electrolyte supplement (or sports drink) can make a big difference. Don't rely solely on plain water during prolonged efforts.
